moral philosophy is rthe study of history from a providential worldview. It reflects God at work in the affairs of man throughout history. moral philosophy views history through the lense of God. It applies Godly wisdom and understanding gained from the study of the past and applies it to the present and the future. Through moral philosophy we study of the past to discover God’s principles at work and we re-apply knowledge of these principles to present and the future.

The study of history from a moral philosophy should remind each of us that man repeats his folly despite the lessons history has to teach us. A Russian proverb says it in this way, “dwell in the past and lose one eye. Forget the past and you will lose both. Though Henry Ford thought history was “bunk”, God places a high value on memory and history.

жить в прошлом, и потерять один глаз. Забудь прошлое, и вы потеряете обоих.

MONROE DOCTRINE

Presented to congress in December of 1823, and would serve as a a guiding philosophy for 100 years.

1. The US will not interfere with existing European colonies.

2. the US will stay out of European alliances and wars

3. The American continents will not be considered potential colonies by European powers.

4. the US would not consider any attempt to spread European government into the western Hemisphere as a threat to US peace and safety.

Despite such broad reaching global policies, Monroe’s presidency fell into disrepute due to widespread corruption in Washington.
